Bundesverteidigungsminister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg (CSU) will junge Menschen auch nach der Aussetzung der Wehrpflicht für die Bundeswehr gewinnen. Nach Informationen des Nachrichtenmagazins "Focus" arbeitet das Ministerium an einem etwa 80 Punkte umfassenden "Attraktivitätsprogramm". Kernpunkt ist eine Prämie von bis zu 5.000 Euro bei Eintritt in die Bundeswehr, für die sich der Minister persönlich stark gemacht haben soll.

"Wir bereiten in der Tat eine Verpflichtungsprämie für Soldaten vor", sagte der Parlamentarische Staatssekretär, Christian Schmidt (CSU). "Man muss etwas investieren, um gute Leute zu bekommen." Den Betrag von 5.000 Euro wollte Schmidt nicht bestätigen. Zudem sollen Soldaten beim Wechsel in die Privatwirtschaft künftig ihre Versorgungsansprüche aus ihrer Zeit beim Bund mitnehmen können.
