"VatiLeaks": Der Kammerdiener hat gestanden

Der ehemalige Kammerdiener des Papstes hat gestanden, seit dem letzten Jahr immer wieder interne Dokumente des Vatikans an Medien weitergegeben zu haben. Der Mann gab den "Geheimnisverrat" vor dem vatikanischen Tribunal zu und hatte nach eigenen Angaben keine Komplizen. Neben ihm hatten nur vier Nonnen und die beiden Privatsekretäre des Papstes, Georg Gänswein und Alfred Xuereb, Zutritt zu den Privaträumen des Kirchenoberhauptes.

In einigen der im Rahmen der sogenannten "VatiLeaks"-Affäre veröffentlichten Dokumente ging es um Vorwürfe der Korruption, des Missmanagements und der Günstlingswirtschaft im Vatikan. Außerdem wurde Kritik an der Führung der Vatikan-Bank Istituto per le Opere di Religione (IOR) geübt.
